I notice you still have the heavy penalties to DX from heavy armour. I played a game of Man to Man last week using a Roman Legionary vs. a Gladiator and the Legionary was crippled by the Half Plate he was wearing, he couldn't hit a thing!

It made me think that the DX penalties from armour was far too much ... indeed it was dropped from GURPS (which of course has cost and move as penalties still).

What are your thoughts?

Well... primarily I'm out to replicate the original game, warts and all. But yeah, I'm thinking maybe there's a need for some change in there.

Were you playing Man to Man, as in the very, very first GURPS book? I think I still have my copy around somewhere. Awesome!

Ooops ... I didn't mean Man to Man, I meant Melee, which was the Microgames boxed combat component that preceded TFT. Don't know why I always call it Man to Man :)

Heh. No worries!

I think I am going to request some playtest help; I will definitely playtest the thing as well. Things that come up in playtest (such as your game last week!) will probably change as a result.
